Isabella was born near Macclesfield but brought up in the New Forest on the banks of the Beaulieu River. Studying under James Sellars at Southampton College of Art. Later at Canterbury College of Art she continued training as a graphic designer specialising in illustration. After graduating she spent several years in publishing as an editor, copywriter and designer before joining the toy industry. After spending several months in Indonesia Isabella returned to the UK moving to the Isle of Skye where she began to paint on silk, exhibiting in many Scottish galleries. A large five-piece hanging was commissioned for new Glasgow Hilton International in 1991. Isabella now lives in Hatherleigh, Devon and her work has broadened working with wax and various shibori techniques.
