It is as if one chapter is closing and another opening, a time for thought and reflection but also a time to look forward. As the nights start to draw in the brash youngster of summer makes way for the more refined, elegant autumn. It is no coincidence that the seasons reflect our market too. The manic rushing around, honking horns, bad parking, screaming kids, silly questions and pale tattooed skin seem to fade away to reveal a more discerning buyer, someone that has more time, more appreciative of art, perhaps, and a bit more disposable income. Not that the summer isn't good for business, of course, but I am more comfortable with the relaxed atmosphere at this time of year.
It also gives us time to take stock, look at what has been selling, refresh a few things and consider what we need to replace. One of the things that has been a great success is the new facility we have to produce fine art giclée prints and greetings cards. It means that I haven't had to paint as many pictures during the busy summer months and that I can sell my popular pictures over and over again. I am also able to have them working at other venues as well. We currently have a display of my work in the café at Waitrose in Holsworthy which due to it's popularity has been extended for another month. Pop in and have a look.
Now, for all you artists and photographers out there, if you're like me, you don't want to invest hundreds of pounds getting loads of prints done that may not sell. So what do you do? Well, with the huge success of the recent launch of our Fine Art Printing service offer we have decided to give you guys another break. For the month of September we will do you one FREE introductory print. What this means is, if you have an image you think will work as a print, send it to us and we will do it for you FREE* of charge, no obligation, just to see if it works for you. You don't have to buy anything, you can just take your free print. Of course, we would like to think that you will be so pleased with them you will order loads more but you don't have to. Can't say fairer than that!
The beauty of giclée printing is you can have as many or as few as you like. So, if you find a certain picture sells better you can call them off as you need them keeping your overheads down and your profit up. I know after my initial hesitancy that getting prints made was the best thing I ever did. If you're not sure or you need any more information by all means give me a call or drop me an email.
So, now is the time of year to get stocked up for those autumn fairs and the run up to Christmas, it will be the best thing you ever did. Right, I'm off for a cup of tea and a bit of birthday cake once I've done a Risk Assessment on all the candles!
*Offer is for one free giclée print up to A2 size from digital image supplied during September. Image manipulation, colour correction or scanning not included. Conditions apply.
