During the past year we have sold some lovely pieces of artwork to people from all around the world and hopefully brought a little bit of brightness and culture to their lives. I would like to thank all of our dedicated local artists who have worked tirelessly to provide us with beautifully crafted and unique works of art.
So, on Christmas Eve we will shut up shop for the year (still time for a few last minute stocking fillers) and loaf about for the next three months until the gallery is back open in March. Oh, I wish! The gallery may not be open but the winter months are still a busy time for us. I will still be doing my Watercolour Workshops for all you budding artists out there and I will be adding some more dates in the New Year, keep an eye out.
I have several commissions to paint and I need to paint a new series of pictures for 2016 to stock the gallery. We will also be seeking out new and inspiring work from other local artists as well as selecting pieces from our established artists for the new season. Everything then needs photographing, weighing, measuring, pricing and generally has to be catalogued to load up to the website. By the way, our online shopping deadline for Christmas is up now so if you want anything you will have to pop in the gallery.
The gallery itself may be closed in January but we will still be working away with our Giclée Printing service for all those artists looking to get prints done for the forthcoming year. It's a good time to stock up.
Well that's it wrapped up for another year. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Oh, and have a look under the tree, there may just be something special for you from West Gallery.
I am off now to put my feet up, the blog will be back in the New Year, see you then. Happy Christmas!
