Melanie works mostly in pewter metal, designing and extending the possibilities of this material as an art medium; procuring a purity and refinement which has taken years to mature. Her influences are from all things natural with the Zen-like philosophy that 'less is more'. Melanie lived on the sea for some years and the elements, the environment, its moods and contrasts, are reflected in her abstract work where light animates the undulating surfaces of the metal forms. Her experience is extensive. She has taught for many years, is a partner in a design company and has been exhibiting her own work for over eleven years.
